I am currently one of the High School Special Education Teachers here at Northland Community Schools. This school district has been an incredible experience and I thoroughly enjoy meeting the students, families, and staff here.
I live in Grand Rapids, MN with my husband, Brian (35 and 1/2 years married). We have three children, all married and living on their own with wonderful careers. We have seven grandchildren ranging in age from four years old to nine years old. My hobbies/interests include: gardening, fishing, hunting, sewing, painting, crocheting, and on and on. :)
I graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Early Childhood. Through the Bemidji State University, I have also obtained licenses for a Specific Learning Disabilities and Emotional/Behavioral Disorders, and my Master's Degree in Special Education. I have received my special education license for Autism Spectrum Disorders through the University of North Dakota and my license for Blind/Visually Impaired through the University of Northern Colorado. I have completed my Administrative Sixth Year license in the area of Director of Special Education. My goal is to someday move in to an administrative position to better help staff, assist students and their families, and provide support and direction in the realm of special education. I have been teaching Special Education for the past 16 years and in the educational field for 20 years.
