Welcome to Northland Community Schools Website

Northland Community Schools represent the communities of Longville, Outing, Federal Dam, Boy River and Remer. The District serves approximately 390 students in grades PreK-12.

In August 2016 the district broke ground on a new high school adjacent to the current buildings. During the summer of 2017 the current high school was completely remodeled and became the elementary building, and the high school is  located in the new addition. The district also added a second competition size gymnasium, a new state-of-the-art kitchen and serving area, and a fitness center. The fitness center is also open to the public, upon payment of an annual fee, outside of school hours.
Finally, we have a completely remodeled Early Childhood building which contains three classrooms and office space. We currently have two classes of 3 and 4 year olds. The third classroom is leased by Leech Lake Early Childhood which operates a headstart program in that room. Northland Community Schools is part of the Northland Early Childhood Collaborative. The other partners in the collaborative are the Northland Family Service Center and Leech Lake Early Childhood. All three programs work together to make sure that every preschool child in the district has an opportunity for education and enrichment.

In the elementary school students receive instruction in physical education, art and music in addition to core subjects. The high school offers a large variety of classes including classes that have dual credits through College In the School. By participating in this program students are able to earn both high school credit and college credit.

Our staff is committed to to the mission of seeing that every student succeeds and is presented with a well-rounded education that will prepare them for their post secondary plans.

The theme for our district is "Eagle Pride, School Wide."  Staff and students, as Northland Eagles, strive to be respectful, responsible, productive and safe in everything they do.
